Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on Gov. Paul LePage's plans to reduce the costs associated with the administration of the state's service contracts as a way to make sure a higher percentage of each dollar spent goes to providing services. The issue has been reviewed by the appropriations committee over several years but has not been resolved. Proposals include limits on the amount of vendors providing the same services in the same region of Maine and capping administrative expenses.
