Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on challenges the state may face if the federal government limits or discontinues the "tax and match" revenue Maine has generated by taxing health care providers to match federal Medicaid funding. Finance Commissioner Sawin Millett stated that this tax currently raises nearly $57 million per year, permitting Maine to match for almost $100 million in federal funding.
