Abstract
The goals of the newly formed Maine Early Learning Investment Group are to improve the quality of early childhood care and to broaden access to top-rated early childhood care facilities for all Maine families in order to bolster the skills and education of Maine's workforce over time. Jim Clair, MELIG chairman and the CEO of Goold Health Systems in Augusta, says that the group hopes to raise private funds to support educational development opportunities for early childhood educators and provide preschool children of low-income families with scholarships. Sidebar about the successful Educare Central Maine facility in Waterville.
