Abstract
Profiles of Mainebiz's 2012 Business Leaders of the Year, including Large Company Business Leader David Stone, co-founder and CEO of CashStar in Portland; Small Company Business Leader Jean Hoffman, president and CEO of Putney Inc. in Portland; and Nonprofit Business Leader Michael Tarpinian, CEO of Opportunity Alliance in South Portland. Under Stone's leadership, CashStar has gained over 250 clients and $28 million in venture capital in 2011. Hoffman secured $21 million in venture capital funding for Putney in 2011. Tarpinian oversaw the recent merger of Youth Alternatives Ingraham with the People's Regional Opportunity Program and is CEO of the renamed Opportunity Alliance.
