Abstract

"Newsworthy" piece on Stuart Gersen, the co-owner of Longfellow Books in Portland, about the experience of being the first Maine business visited by a "cash mob" organized by Local Thunder as a way to support local businesses and the "buy local" movement. In less than an hour, the 50 people who "cash mobbed" Longfellow Books increased the store's business for the day by about 50%.
