Abstract

"Focus Health care" commentary piece by Gregory White, public relations coordinator for Consumers for Affordable Health Care on provisions in the Affordable Care Act that will help small businesses insure their employees. One of the provisions offers tax credits to small employers who cover at least 50% of the cost of single health care coverage for each employee. He also discusses a Maine program, the Part-time Employee Insurance Voucher Program that will allow small businesses to offer insurance for their part-time and seasonal staff. These programs are countered, however, by an increase in premiums as a result of state legislation, Public Law 2011, Chapter 90.
