Abstract

"Commentary" piece by Jack Montgomery, attorney and chair of Bernstein Shur's Energy and Environmental Practice Group, on the rise of a new trend in the practice of law, the use of "settlement counsel" to resolve cases as early as possible. 90% of all cases settle, but often only after a protracted and expensive process. Settlement counsel can significantly reduce litigation costs.
