Abstract

John Hanson, the publisher of Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors magazine launched USHarbors.com in 2011, an interactive web-based guide to over 1,000 harbors. The Web site includes automated national weather, buoy, tidal, and chart data, along with curated blog posts and interactive Google maps covering New England harbors. Hanson's current challenge is figuring out how to attract a national audience, something that Nobleboro-based Marinas.com has already achieved.
