Abstract

Piece about Maine businesses that are capitalizing on the trend towards healthy snacks, in this case, nuts, with a particular focus on John Powers's The Gilded Nut Snack Co LLC and Living Nuts. The Portland-based The Gilded Nut purchases and flavor coats pistachios in California and distributes them to over 80 accounts in the San Francisco area and the Northeast. David Pruzansky's Living Nutz sells raw coated nuts that are certified organic.
