Abstract

Ray Labbe & Sons, Brunswick, has invested over $200,000 in new asphalt reclamation equipment which will allow them to make their own asphalt from recycled roadway materials during winter months when they used to have to go out of state to find the asphalt they needed for their paving and construction projects. Their work with Maine Natural Gas, which needed to keep working throughout the winter months, provided the incentive to purchase the equipment from a German company called Bagela. The product and the technique are new, so it will take time to see if the company’s claims about the longevity of the paving are correct.
