Abstract

Nonprofit Harvard Pilgrim Health Care is joining for-profit Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield and nonprofit Maine Community Health Options as a provider in the state’s federally run exchange. Edward Kane, Harvard Pilgrim’s vice president of Maine operations, talks about the company’s market share in Maine and its experience running the DirigoChoice program. The company has also been involved in several pilot programs in the state related to quality care and innovative pay-for-performance arrangements.
