Abstract

“Focus: Transportation/Infrastructure” piece on HNTB Corp. The national employee-owned transportation infrastructure consulting firm, with its Maine office in Westbrook, has helped the Maine Port Authority and Maine Department of Transportation land a federal grant of $14 million which has helped to fund improvements at Maine’s three deep-water ports (Portland, Eastport, and Searsport) as well as upgrades at the International Marine Terminal. The article looks in more depth at the company’s work on the IMT expansion which is underway. With a sidebar about the Maine Port Authority’s long-range plan to establish Portland-to-New York shipping service.
