Abstract
Piece on the expansion of Maine Sea Coast Vegetables, a Down East company that turns sea vegetables into treats such as Kelp Krunch and Sea Seasonings. Their new facility in Ellsworth will give them nearly twice as much square feet as they currently have, including room for a research-and-development kitchen and space for outreach efforts. Article looks at the harvesting of seaweed and how natural disasters can impact the supply, prompting efforts to increase the amount of farmed, cultivated seaweed.
