Abstract
TechPlace, a new startup incubator at Brunswick Landing being developed by the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority, is preparing for its Phase II expansion, and is looking for businesses to locate there. The expansion will include both individual companies and shared manufacturing space, pending the issuance of a permit for industrial use. As the location was once a former Navy facility, it has the advantage of being in a Foreign Trade Zone, so companies can import parts, perform some manufacturing and then export them without incurring duties. Occupants are eligible for Pinetree Development Zone benefits and is also in a Historically Underutilized Business Zone area, which gives companies preferential access to federal procurement opportunities.
