Abstract

In April 2015 Democrats offered a counter-proposal to Governor Paul LePage’s tax reform package. The article presents a side by side comparison of the two plans and includes income tax relief, sales tax rate, sales tax base, homestead exemption, revenue sharing, estate tax, nonprofit tax, corporate income tax, pensions, telecom tax, and tobacco tax.
