Abstract
More than $20 million is being invested into new projects in Rockland to make it more attractive and viable to its visitors and residents. Included projects are The Main Street Markets, Dowling Walsh Gallery, The Maine Center for Contemporary Art, The Farnsworth Art Museum, 250 Main Street (hotel), and the Rockland Harbor Inn. It is hoped that the projects will leave the area less vulnerable to the vagaries of any one particular industry or business. The projects will also increase Rockland's attraction for anchoring industries in the midcoast. [map, images]
