Abstract

State economists J. Scott Moody, CEO and Chief Economist of Federalism in Action; Jonathan Reisman, Associate Professor of Economics and Public Policy at the University of Maine, Machias; Amanda Rector, Maine State Economist; Charles Lawton, Chief Economist of Planning Decisions Inc.; and Garrett Martin, Executive Director for Maine Center for Economic Policy are offer their opinions on areas of growth in Maine, trending industries, how best to assess the availability of credit for business, new laws that will have a major impact on businesses, the impact the 2016 presidential election will have on the economy, the biggest challenges facing Maine, and if Maine will be able to resolve the challenge of available labor/workforce.
