Abstract
The article describes the migrant and guest worker workforce that supports the agricultural sector of Maine's economy. Migrant workers in Maine are a part of the Eastern Migrant Stream, who follow the Atlantic seaboard working on farms to pick and process various commodities. While the agricultural industry has become more mechanized, according to a U.S. Department of Agricultural Statistics Service census, 62%of Maine's paid workforce are migrant workers. Details about their work, where the workers come from, and how they are transported to other farms is described. [images]
