Unum recently merged with Starmount Life Insurance Company of Baton Rouge which allowed the disability insurer to offer more coverage. It now offers disability, life accident, critical illness, dental and vision insurance for companies. It has also invested in web and mobile technology, which is enabling the company to reach the workforce that is distributed over a wide geographical area. [image, graph]
