Abstract
Portland has been recognized as a good place to live, however recent demand for housing has been driving the cost of housing beyond the reach for many Portlanders. Nonprofits, like Avesta, are active in developing affordable housing for lower income earners. The Portland City Council adopted inclusionary zoning in 2015 which requires new developments of ten units or more to set aside 10% of the units to be offered at affordable rates. [image]
