    Abstract

    Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences received a $399,908 grant from the National Science Foundation. It funds research of a marine protozoan parasite that infects oysters along the Maine coast. The University of Maine will collaborate on the study, and received a $174,742 grant. Southern Maine Community College students will work at the Bigelow Lab in the summers of 2018 and 2019. Bigelow also received $445,041 to fund a project entitled " Microbial Activity in the Crustal Deep Biosphere."
