    Abstract

    The U.S. Department of Agriculture is funding local food initiatives. $500,000 was granted to Greater Portland Council of Governments for Scaling for Growth in the Portland Foodshed. $99, 473 in funding will go to the Gulf of Maine Research Institute to work with New England fishermen to market local seafood locally. Coastal Enterprises Inc received $36,637 for microenterprise startups.
