Abstract
The demand for affordable housing in Portland far exceeds the supply. Avesta Housing, a nonprofit provider of affordable housing, has a waitlist of more than 3,000 people, and fewer than 400 vacancies. Article looks at the reasons behind the shortage and provides a brief overview of various affordable housing projects in pre-construction.
