Abstract
Maine's boatbuilding industry has changed dramatically in the past 25 years with the advent of new lightweight, high-strength materials and digital tools. There is still a place for old-fashioned woodworking skills, however. With brief overview of how Front Street Shipyard, Bath Iron Works, and Portsmouth Naval Shipyard have adapted to changing times.
