Profile of Mary Allen Lindemann, co-founder of Coffee By Design, the craft coffee maker, wholesaler, and retailer. The business boasts $8 million in annual sales, employees about 65 people, has 700 wholesale accounts from Maine to Japan, and several retail coffeehouses. The article looks at how Lindemann's upbringing and her interdisciplinary studies in college fed her passion for supporting social causes. Coffee by Design is now a certified B Corp business, meeting the highest levels of social and environmental performance.
