Abstract
A look at how three initiatives are offering new opportunities in northern Maine. University of Maine's new Center for Additive Manufacturing of Metals will use 3D metal printing and work with businesses around the state who want to test the process. Eastern Maine Community College is expanding its training opportunities for nursing students who will no longer have to travel for their coursework or clinical training but will be able to complete both closer to home in Millinocket. And finally, the Madawaska-Edmunston International Bridge will be replaced. The current bridge is deteriorating and commercial trucks have been barred, forcing businesses to make long detours.
