Abstract
A feature piece on the growing number of women in Maine who have leadership roles in the wealth management industry, although nationwide, only about 23% of certified financial planners are women.The article examines why women have not historically entered the field, as well as some ideas for changing the demographics. The article profiles several leaders in Maine, including Amanda Rand,CEO of Spinnaker Trust, Jessamyn Norton, also of Spinnaker, Abby Psyhogeos who heads up Boston Financial Management in Portland, and others. Sidebar offers career insights from some of the women profiled.
