Abstract

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, workers describe high levels of stress and burnout. Several Maine companies explain how they are supporting the mental health of their employees. Tyler Technologies improved the company's intranet's mental wellness section. Bangor Savings Bank hosts virtual social events so that its remote workers can feel connected, and Covetrus has implemented a "video-free Wednesdays" program to relieve workers of some of the pressure of being in front of a screen. Rhoda McVeigh, consulting services director at KMA Human Resources Consulting LLC, offers other tips, such as trusting that remote workers are actually working and working with parents who may also be dealing with remote schooling and childcare challenges.
