Abstract
Updates from Midcoast/Downeast Maine. Island Institute's new president, Anthony Chatwin, has set priorities for the years ahead, notably to reduce Maine's maritime economy's reliance on fossil fuels and help island communities create climate solutions. Bob Smith, owner of the Sebasco Harbor Resort, discusses ongoing understaffing challenges at the resort, and expects another busy year in 2022. Devin Finigan, proprietor and head chef at Aragosta at Goose Cove, kept busy with eight summer weddings. And finally, Jackson Lab is making hiring a priority this year, tapping into employees' networks to find potential applicants in a tough job market.
