Abstract

A discussion of planned expansion to the LP Houlton mill in New Limerick in response to increased demand for the company's SmartSide line of siding and trim for residential building. Briefly relates the history of the mill and the process for turning aspen logs sourced from Aroostook County and New Brunswick into SmartSide products. Describes the construction and new equipment planned for the expansion and how growth of the company will impact the local economy.
