Abstract

An overview of five health-related startups either based in Maine or with ties to the state. Featured are: Group B Labs, creators of an "advanced baby bottle;" JotLogs, an app designed to help doctors document their case notes; WAVED Medical, which uses new algorithms to enhance breast-cancer detection; hey freya, an app and supplement line aimed at women between their twenties and forties; and Play Portal, a play-version of a medical device designed to introduce a medical procedure to children in a nonthreatening way.
