    Abstract

    Frustrated by disposable plastic pens, Ian Lebauer of Scarborough invented WOODY, the first refillable ballpoint pen. It is made of white birch scrap from dowel manufacturers and is now sold in forty-nine states and overseas. It is produced by Goodkind Pen Company in Scarborough.
