    Abstract

    Two new breast care centers in Portland offer different atmospheres but a similar degree of professional expertise and technological resources. The Breast Health Resource Center at Mercy Hospital focuses on reducing the stigma associated with mammograms, particularly in rural areas and relies on surgeons as primary physicians for patients with tumors. The Breast Care Center at Maine Medical Center, located in the Oncology Department, focuses on the long-term physical and emotional health of its patients.
