Abstract
Stories of how four new Maine authors came to write their first books. Profiled authors include Maria Padia of Brunswick, Jean Flahive of Eastport, Jaed Coffin of Brunswick, and Patricia Delois of Portland. Delois, manager of the audio-visual department at the Portland Public Library, won publication of the novel "Bufflehead Sisters" through a writing contest on youwriteon.com. She is now working with an agent to shop the book, along with a second, to trade publishers.
