Abstract

"Cover Story" piece on Chellie Pingree, who has been named president and CEO of Common Cause, a Washington D.C.-based nonprofit organization dedicated to political reform. Pingree is a former Maine state senator and ran for the U.S. Senate in 2002, losing to incumbent Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine. Common Cause is best known for its advocacy for the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform Act. With an interview in question-and-answer format explaining Common Cause issues and discussing Maine's Clean Election Act.
