Abstract

"this just in" piece on upcoming events organized by the antiwar community in Maine. A Convergence Against the War/Occupation march and rally is scheduled in Augusta for April 19. Marchers are asked to contribute money as the city is requiring organizers to pay for police coverage during the event. A 20-mile Refugee Walk is planned for April 18 from Bar Harbor to Ellsworth, to draw attention to the tens of thousands of displaced Iraqis. Ongoing Saturday night potlucks are also being planned for Monument Square in Portland.
