Abstract
Article on the People's Free Space Bus, a precursor to a permanent People's Free Space in Portland. Jonah Fertig, Free Space organizer, said a tough real-estate market led the group to decide on using a bus to give people in the community a chance to connect in a noncommercial place. The bus will be used to travel the summer-fair circuit and neighborhood festivals in Portland. The bus includes a kitchen, dining room, living room and a library stocked with books on progressive political topics. The Free Space project is currently hosting films and talks at Portland West, and hopes to expand its selection of classes currently offered.
