Abstract

Shawn Wishart was set to reopen the Old Port's Basement as an all-ages dance club last week, under the impression given by landlord Joe Soley that he could transfer the previous manager's license. He discovered that the city of Portland requires him to apply for a new license, and that the inspections and fire departments also have concerns about the space. The opening will be delayed. Wishart owns Michelangelo's Pizza & Deli in Monument Square.
