Abstract

"Politics and Other Mistakes" piece on the relative insignificance of Maine in the presidential primaries, noting that historically, Maine has been on the losing side of the closest presidential elections since World War II. But some, like Kent Price, Hancock County coordinator for Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, insist that campaigning in Maine is still relevant, especially for a candidate who is being ignored by the mainstream media. Dwayne Bickford, executive director of the state Republican party, admitted that Maine will not likely have much impact on the national convention.
