Abstract
Editorial endorsements for 2003 local and state elections. The Phoenix endorses incumbent Nicholas Mavadones over Mark Reilly for At-Large Portland City Council representative. For the District 1 Portland City Council seat, William Gorham is recommended over Robert Hoyt. The paper endorses Karen Geraghty for District 2 Portland City Council representative in her race against Orlando Delogu. Incumbent Jonathan Radtke is supported over challenger Joseph Lewis in for the At-Large Portland School Committee seat. The paper endorses Herb Adams over Stephen Spring in the District 2 Portland School Committee race. The Phoenix recommends voting "yes" on both #1 and #2 Portland bond issues that authorize East End school and Riverton School repairs. In the statewide tax-reform referendum, Question 1C is endorsed. The paper recommends a "no" vote on statewide referendum Question 2. A "no" vote is endorsed for the statewide referendum Question 3, the casino question.
