Abstract

"Election 2004" piece on "Green Horizon Quarterly," John Rensenbrink's new Maine-based journal of ideas and opinions about the Green Party, the second issue of which hit newsstands in November. The second issue deals with the debate over whether to run a candidate in the 2004 presidential election, focusing on comments by: Pat LaMarche, who received seven percent of the vote as a Green candidate for Maine's governor in 1998; Steve Welzer, Rensenbrink's co-editor of the quarterly and a founding member of the Green Party of New Jersey; and Dean Myerson, who was on the national staff of the Ralph Nadar 2000 campaign. Rensenbrink, who is largely recognized as a founder of the Green Party in the U.S., also is a former Maine candidate for the U.S. Senate , and is the U.S. representative to the Global Green Network.
