Abstract

"books" piece reviewing "In Peril," an account by Skip Strong and Twain Braden of the rescue a stricken tugboat in the Gulf of Mexico, and the subsequent controversy over marine salvage rights. Strong, now a boat pilot in Penobscot Bay, had to rescue the tugboat, the crew, and the cargo with his 655-foot oil tanker, in the middle of a tropical storm. Strong and Braden are at the Portland Public Library, Feb. 25.
