Abstract

"Politics and Other Mistakes" piece on the Feb. 3 special election for a vacant state House seat in Biddeford, in which voters choose Democrat Stephen Beaudette over Republican Brian Pooler and Green Dorothy Lafortune. During the campaign, the Greens were accused of pressuring elderly voters to cast absentee ballots for Lafortune. State Green party leaders were unruffled by the accusations, saying that Lafortune was being blamed for something she didn't do.
