Abstract
"this just in" piece on a July 5 protest by Earth First! at the Blaine House in Augusta to oppose possible construction of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal on the Maine coast, a proposal Gov. John Baldacci supports. The radical environmental group erected a 25-foot high tripod of logs from which Logan Perkins, 25, of Portland, suspended herself with ropes and a harness beside a banner. The activists also poured lobster offal onto the driveway to symbolize the LNG peril to fishermen. Five protestors who wouldn't leave the grounds were arrested.
