Abstract
Memorial tribute to Maine-born writer and artist Bern Porter, who died earlier this year at the age of 93. Porter worked on the Manhattan Project and the Saturn V rocket, published Henry Miller and others, was influential in the development of mail art and theorized a union of art and science called Sciart. Porter deposited all of his books and manuscripts in different collections, including Colby, Bowdoin, the Maine State Library and the Belfast Historical Society. During the last years of his life, Porter was a resident of Belfast. Details.
