Abstract

"Diverse-City" piece urging Mainers to venture outside of their own communities more so they can fully appreciate their state and enjoy the diversity that exists in it. Many who live outside of York County do not recognize that Saco and Biddeford are not the same place, or that the Kennebunks are not exclusively an enclave of the wealthy. Likewise, many people outside of Cumberland County perceive Portland to be a busy, dangerous metropolis.
