Abstract

"Politics + Other Mistakes" piece on Roxanne Quimby, who appears to have abandoned her plans for a national park in the north woods. Quimby said her efforts have been met with disdain, especially from snowmobilers, loggers and hunters. Quimby may donate the land she bought in northern Maine to Baxter State Park. In other news, Bob Stone, a retired banker from Lewiston, may challenge Sen. Olympia Snows, R-Maine, in the primary election next year.
