Abstract

"This Just In" piece reporting that the People's Free Space, a Portland grassroots community organization, is looking for a cooperatively owned community building in Portland which could house the Free Space, as well as a co-op grocery store, office space, studio space, and even co-op housing. Jonah Fertig, outreach coordinator, believes the the co-op ownership model might be feasible. The People's Free Space has twice had their rented headquarters put up for sale.
