Abstract

Article on the popularity of Portland's Ultimate Frisbee summer league, which this season includes some 580 players on 32 teams. Alex Pozzy, who has organized the league since its inception in 1993, aims to raise the sport to the level of other mainstream sports. Rich Young, an organizer of youth Ultimate in Maine, said that at least 17 high schools have teams and that interest is growing. With comments by Ultimate players Moe Lucey, Alex Roy, Mike Davis, and Adam Johnson.
