Abstract
"Cover Story" piece on the new zero-tolerance policy on drugs now in effect in many Maine schools. With the opinions of experts and Maine officials on both sides of the issue, and with special focus on Tracy Jannicelli, a ninth-grader at School Administrative District 61's Lake Region High School, who was expelled for ingesting two pills, now thought to have been Ritalin, that she received from another student. Jannicelli claims she had a headache and thought the pills were aspirin.
